The 2012 Cloud Networking Report (The Report) will be published both in its entirety and in a serial fashion. This is the first of the serial publications. As pointed out in this publication, the phrase cloud computing refers to the LAN, WAN and management functionality that must be in place to enable cloud computing. In order for the report to intelligently describe the networking challenges that are associated with enabling cloud publications will focus on the key components of a cloud network: Data Center LANs, WANs, and Network Management. Given the growing interest in the topic, there will also be a separate section on Software Defined Networks.
