BRIEF: School hosts e-waste event

Nov 04, 2009 (Times-Herald - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- California Maritime Academy will host a free electronic waste recycling day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday on campus, 200 Maritime Academy Drive in Vallejo.

Electronic waste accepted includes audio and visual equipment, computers, cell phones, coaxial cable, computer parts, copiers, digital cameras, DVD players and discs, fax machines, keyboards, alarm clocks, monitors, MP3 players, projectors, scanners, speakers, stereo equipment, telephone parts and systems, televisions, vacuum cleaners, VCRs, video game parts, Walkmans or similar devices, wired and wireless devices, and CD players and discs.

These items will not be accepted: refrigerators, mattresses, furniture, mirrors, fluorescent bulbs, smoke detectors and batteries.
