James Schramko Presents First "App-date" Podcast on InternetMarketingSpeed.com

Sydney, Australia, Feb 16, 2012 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- InternetMarketingSpeed.com currently features a podcast created by site owner and internationally acclaimed Internet marketing authority James Schramko of his interview with Steve Ovens of InternetSoftwareSystems.com about the subject of applications or apps, as they are commonly referred to.

"A lot of people are asking about making apps, and lots of businesses are interested in finding somebody to make an app for them," Ovens states. "A lot of people have that question, 'How do I start? How do I go about building an app?' and I guess the first thing is, it's just like a website; you got to know, what's the purpose of it? Why are we making an app in the first place?" The podcast, which runs just under 20 minutes, gives key information about apps that many people are curious about. Schramko asks the frequently asked questions that people speculating on app development have. Ovens, a software integrations expert, is able to provide answers from an industry insider's perspective. He was there in Silicon Valley when the original tech bubble happened. His background happens to be in software development, and even before there was Google Maps, he was working on mapping applications for a company in San Jose, California, just down the road from Apple. Ovens currently conveys interest in venturing into app development.

"I've been along to some introductory training on what all this app stuff is about," he shares. "Even though I've been building software since I was in short pants, it doesn't mean that I'm a good app developer. I can't just start building apps. There's a whole bunch of stuff to learn and that's because I want to know enough about it to make good decisions about who do I hire to build the apps for me, what should I be thinking about when I'm designing an app." The podcast covers many fine points about this emerging field, such as the elements that make an app successful. According to Ovens, app developers need context to make their creation work. "Just like with business models, there are lots that work, but you have to have the context to be able to approach them and succeed. What a lot of people are missing is that initial context that really allows them to evaluate, is this the right business model for me? Do I have the skills that are going to predispose me to be likely to succeed in this thing?" Ovens elaborates.

The discussion includes topics like why somebody would want an app, how much it costs to build one, the options for making them, the devices they run on, whom to hire to build them, the Android versus iPhone issue, etc.

Schramko hints that this would be just the first of several installments of podcasts about apps, quipping that those episodes could be called "App-dates". As the interview draws to a close, Ovens gives his final thoughts on the topic and urges businesses to research and get a feel for the app technology since it is such a growing market.
