Aha™ to Power Content in New HondaLink™ System
PALO ALTO, Calif. --(Business Wire)--
AhaTM
by HARMAN, the infotainment platform that makes Web content as easy
to use as radio is delivering content to HondaLinkTM, a new
personalized driving experience that streams a world of information and
entertainment to Honda (News - Alert) vehicles. Tens of thousands of stations from Aha,
such as audiobooks, internet radio, on-demand music, news,
entertainment, personalized points of interest information, Facebook and
Twitter (News - Alert) audio newsfeeds and much more will be available free to
HondaLink users. Aha will be seamlessly integrated into the HondaLink
mobile app and audio system-based interface system for a unified user
experience.
HondaLink will debut this fall on the all-new, ninth-generation 2013
Honda Accord. Honda and Aha previously announced the partnership at CES (News - Alert)
2012, and today Honda shared details of the HondaLink platform including
Aha via live webcast. A recording will be viewable after the webcast at www.hondanews.com/live/HondaTech.
"We are making Aha's fourth band of radio ubiquitous so that consumers
can listen to the latest Web-based infotainment on any device, whether
that be on their smart phone or even in their car" said Robert Acker,
Vice President and GM of Aha by Harman. "Through our partnership with
Honda, we are helping a global automotive giant deliver the
next-generation of infotainment to drivers. Aha continually adds new
stations with the latest audio content, and now drivers with HondaLink
will benefit from Aha's expanding infotainment selections for the life
of their vehicles."
How it Works
After downloading the free HondaLink app for iPhone (News - Alert) or Android, users
can use their phones to select their preset stations from over 30,000
choices. When their smart phone is connected to a compatible Honda
entertainment system, the users' Aha presets become radio preset
buttons, so drivers can put down the phone and switch between stations
just like traditional radio. When they arrive at their destination and
exit the car, users can seamlessly continue enjoying their content with
their smart phone.
Aha is a part of HARMAN International (NYSE: HAR) the premium global
audio and infotainment group. For more information, images and news,
