Police: Glastonbury Man Who Set Up Camera In Girl's Bathroom Facing More Charges
GLASTONBURY, Aug 20, 2012 (The Hartford Courant - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
A 38-year-old Windsor Locks man already facing voyeurism charges was arrested again Monday after more images and video clips of a nude 15-year-old girl and her mother were found on a digital camera that he set up in a residential bathroom at a home where he rented a room, police said.
Alounkune Vongsarasinh, of 39 Laurel Road, was charged late Monday with six counts of voyeurism. He was first arrested April 3 for first-degree possession of child pornography and voyeurism.
Vongsarasinh planted the camera in the bathroom in order to videotape the teen and her mother, police said. Police allegedly found five video files on his computer, including recordings of the teen readying herself for a shower.
The woman said her daughter was showering in a downstairs bathroom when she noticed a small video camera wedged between the windowsill and blind. They replayed video footage, which showed Vongsarasinh setting up the camera and leaving the downstairs bathroom, according to an arrest warrant from Glastonbury police.
Investigators secured a warrant for the home and seized electronic equipment after the woman took the recording to police.
He told police he purchased the camera to record mountain bike treks but confessed to placing the device in the bathroom to "spy" on the woman and her daughter about two weekends ago, the warrant states. He also admitted to loading clips of the woman and girl onto his computer as numbered files, but said he did not upload them to the Internet.
According to the warrant, Vongsarasinh told police the images were for his "own viewer pleasure."
Police said he told them it was the first time he spied on anyone, but he changed his story after learning police would seize his computer. After Glastonbury Police executed a search warrant on the home and seized assorted digital devices owned by Vongsarasinh, they found six additional video recordings depicting both the juvenile roommate and her mother inside the bathroom of the home.
Vongsarasinh had been renting a second-floor bedroom in the home for about a month.
Police said Vongsarasinh was an employee at Fox CT.
