Polyvore Launches New iPhone App and Announces 19 Million Monthly Visitors
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. --(Business Wire)--
Leading style and social commerce platform, Polyvore, announces the
launch of its iPhone (News - Alert) app, designed to let people create, share, discover
and shop the latest styles.
More than 19 million people visit Polyvore.com
in their web browsers each month to express their style and discover the
latest trends. The iPhone app brings that functionality to mobile phones.
Through simple and intuitive touch gestures, the new Polyvore app lets
people create shoppable fashion collages by mixing and matching products
from thousands of e-commerce stores. Each collage, or "set," contains
links to online stores, so people can shop as well as browse the looks
created by Polyvore's global community of users.
"Browsing sets with the flick of a fingr is reminiscent of flipping
through the pages of a beautiful fashion magazine. Shopping is just one
tap away," said Polyvore co-founder Pasha Sadri. "The iPhone's touch
interface is perfect for Polyvore. Creating sets by dragging, pinching
and tapping feels simple, intuitive and fun."
The Polyvore app also allows people to search directly for items to buy.
All products are ranked by how popular they are with the Polyvore
community, which allows viewers to see what brands and styles are
trending right now.
"Polyvore members create over 2.4 million sets per month, each with up
to 50 products, generating millions of data points on style and taste.
We use this data to better understand taste and to drive our algorithms
for search ranking and product recommendations," Sadri said.
The Polyvore iPhone app can be downloaded for free from the App Store.
