Sendmail IP Info Application Available on Apple App Store

Sendmail, Inc. announced the availability of the Sendmail IP Info application for the iPhone (News - Alert) yesterday. Sendmail provides message processing appliances, applications, and services that enable enterprises to modernize their messaging infrastructures.

In a release, Stephanie Nevin, vice president of marketing at Sendmail said, “The entire workforce is becoming more mobile and the need to quickly access information while on-the-go has become critical. This is especially true for IT personnel responsible for managing mission critical IT infrastructure like email.”

“The Sendmail IP Info app gives email administrators access to the information they need to ensure their email infrastructure is protected and performing at optimal levels–all from the palm of their hand,” Nevin added.

According to company sources this native iPhone application can be downloaded for free from the iPhone App Store. Sendmail IP Info offers e-mail systems administrators the functionality of an on-the-go administrative tool that keeps their corporate e-mail infrastructure secure and optimized.

The growing mobile workforce requires continuous access to enterprise information on handheld devices whether in office or while traveling as important decisions need to be made within less time. Using Sendmail IP Info, critical information is made immediately available, so that administrators can quickly check about hosts or obtain important information on a domain’s SPF records from their iPhone itself.

Sendmail IP Info application features functionalities like DNSBL query which allows e-mail system administrators to check whether an e-mail server is listed on any public DNS Real Time Black Hole List. The application allows sending of queries to three DNSBL servers at a time and viewing the results of the query on the iPhone.

The SPF or Sender Policy Framework Check feature is one of the most widely adopted Sender Authentication technologies. With the Sendmail IP Info app, system administrators can detect if the SPF records of sites are properly configured, explained company officials.

Sendmail announced recently that it attended the CIOsynergy Chicago Conference in April 2011. The CIOsynergy Chicago event featured leading CIOs who shared their strategies, successes, failures and lessons learned during a time of shifting technology paradigms.
