RedMere recently announced the release of the new ultra-compact mini booster modules for high speed HDMI and Mini DisplayPort cables. The new mini-module design is a lot smaller when compared to the current active cable booster modules available in the market. It is around 55 percent smaller in size and will be able to accommodate a thinner, lighter cable connector architecture that will make it easy to plug in and use.
The new design is also ideal as it will fit in well with the new ultra-sleek look of most modern consumer electronic gadgets like the Motorola Xoom, Nokia (News

In a release, RedMere's chief marketing officer, Darren Hobbs, said, "RedMere's new eco-friendly ultra-compact mini modules allows brands to offer active cables, which are far tinier than standard bulky HDMI cables, with complementing compact connectors which reflect the needs of today's media consumer who want to watch video on the go. It leads to extremely portable high-speed cables, enabling HD video sharing anywhere. RedMere can now offer this high performance embedded technology for HDMI and DisplayPort standards."
Cable manufacturers who use RedMere's active cable technology will be able to use 80 percent less copper and PVC in producing lighter, flexible and easy to use cables. RedMere's mini booster module is embedded into the sink (TV) side connector of the HDMI cable.
The new mini-modules can also be incorporated into a new line of thin HDMI and Mini DisplayPort cables that provide a guarantee of a full 1080p output using a slimmer, narrower connector design.
All RedMere enabled cables get individually tested during production and compliance is fully guaranteed with High Speed HDMI and DisplayPort 1.1 and 1.2 standards, making sure that these super-compact cables are future proofed against 3D or 4K2K compatibility.
