Gameloft Signs Digital Gaming Alliance with Hasbro


Gameloft, a developer of digital and social games, signed a worldwide strategic licensing deal with Hasbro, Inc. for digital gaming. 

Hasbro is a branded play company offering a wide-range of entertainment offerings right from toys and games, to television programming, motion pictures, digital gaming and a comprehensive licensing program.

According to this agreement, Gameloft will develop and market MY LITTLE PONY and LITTLEST PET SHOP brand digital play experiences across a myriad of tablet, smartphone and platforms such as iPad, iPod touch, iPhone (News - Alert), and Android. LITTLEST PET SHOP will also be available on mobile.

"Hasbro's position as a leading branded play company makes this a very strong alliance for Gameloft," Gonzague de Vallois, senior vice president of Publishing at Gameloft, said in a press release.

"The opportunity to collaborate on such globally recognized brands such as MY LITTLE PONY and LITTLEST PET SHOP not only allows us to build a unique and immersive universe for the characters we've all grown to love, but to take the much-adored franchises to the next level of digital play," Vallois added.

The company has plans to release the Hasbro-branded games before the end of the year.

"Creating highly inventive and accessible digital play experiences based on our world-class brands continues to be at the core of Hasbro's mission and we envision Gameloft to be a key player in the ongoing execution of that global strategy," Mark Blecher, senior vice president of Digital Media and Marketing at Hasbro, said in a statement.

"This agreement brings together Hasbro's powerhouse girls' brands with one of the industry's preeminent mobile game developers which will take MY LITTLE PONY and LITTLEST PET SHOP play to an entirely new level of fun," Blecher added.     

Gameloft creates games for all digital platforms, including mobile phones, smartphones and tablets including Apple (News - Alert) iOS and Android devices, set-top boxes, connected TVs and consoles. Gameloft partners with leading international brands such as UNO, Spider-Man, James Cameron's Avatar, Ferrari and Sonic Unleashed. Gameloft also operates its own established franchises, such as Real Football, Asphalt, Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation and N.O.V.A. 3: Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance. 

Gameloft claims that its apps are ranked among the top 10 games in the iTunes App Store. Some of its latest hits include; Men in Black 3, Shark Dash, Ice Age Village and N.O.V.A. 3 - Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance.

Gameloft recently announced it will be at the 2012 E3, the Electronic Entertainment Expo, where it will unveil upcoming releases for iOS and Android (News - Alert) smartphones and tablets in worldwide exclusives.
