Cirago Launches Energy-Efficient Device that Wirelessly Secures, Alerts and Locates iPhone

According to mobile security experts at Lookout, if everyone who misplaced their phone in 2012 didn’t recover it, lost mobile devices would cost U.S. consumers a whopping 30 billion dollars.

Under this backdrop, Cirago International, a provider of Apple (News - Alert) MFi accessories, storage and wireless solutions, has launched a new solution that would help wirelessly locate lost iPhones and other mobile devices and save consumers money, time and frustration spent looking for misplaced mobile devices.

Called the iAlertTag (IAT1000), the new device has been designed to ensure that you never leave your iPhone (News - Alert) or other valuables behind. Equipped with the latest Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy Technology, iAlertTag helps users save energy and enjoy a long battery life.

“How many of us have never misplaced our cell phone?” asks Patrick Lo, president of Cirago International. “The iAlertTag is an easy-to-use and energy-efficient device that can help users track and find their misplaced mobile device.”

In a recent statement, Cirago explained how the iAlertTag works:

It creates a wireless link with a customer’s phone and the tag (News - Alert). When they are separated, both devices vibrate and produce an alarm sound.

If aWindows PC is equipped with Cirago BTA8000 Bluetooth 4.0 technology, the iAlertTag will automatically lock the computer immediately after the user leaves it, ensuring it will stay secure.

Users simply press the button on the iAlertTag to activate alarm on the lost/misplaced phone. Similarly, to locate a misplaced iAlertTag, users press the button on the app on their iPhone.

iAlertTag comes with a free companion iPhone app, which can be downloaded from the iTunes App store. The app allows users to set iPhone's alarm sound to any tunes from the iTunes library. The app can also manage multiple iAlertTags simultaneously, allowing users to keep track of easy-to-misplace items with a push of a button.

The IAT1000 supports the Apple iPhone 4S, Third-Generation iPad, and Windows PC equipped with Cirago BTA8000 (Bluetooth 4.0).

The IAT1000 is now available for $49.99 at major electronics retailers, including Micro Center, Amazon, Newegg, and at Cirago website itself.

Cirago International unveiled three new Apple iPad accessories at the 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES (News - Alert)) in Las Vegas, each designed to make using the iPad simpler and more productive. The new products represent the latest innovations from the company and join its growing Apple Accessories lineup.
