Panasonic Upgrades Toughbook 53 Notebook PC

Panasonic (News - Alert) Toughbook mobile computers are created to withstand drops, spills, dust and grime. They also perform in the harshest environments. The quality, durability and reliability of Panasonic Toughbook mobile computers offer considerable financial advantages to users. Rugged Toughbook computers keep performing, in situations that would damage conventional computers.

Recently, the company upgraded its semi-rugged Toughbook 53 notebook computer. Offering high-performance computing in demanding markets like insurance, construction and the military, Panasonic’s semi-rugged notebooks have created a reputation as dependable and versatile devices.

Along with Intel (News - Alert) Turbo Boost Technology, the updated Toughbook 53 is now available with an Intel Core i5-3320M vPro processor (3MB cache, up to 3.3 GHz). Other upgrades consist of expanded storage and improved connectivity options.

Certified by an independent third party to pass nine MIL-STD-810G tests, including surviving three foot drops on 26 faces with one unit, the Toughbook 53 features a spill-resistant keyboard. The device also provides a high-definition, 14” LED display and provides an optional 2-850 nit sunlight-viewable Panasonic CircuLumin touchscreen.

“For mobile professionals in industries where a standard commercial-grade laptop does not provide sufficient durability, the Toughbook 53 is an ideal choice,” said Kyp Walls, director of product management, Panasonic Solutions for Business. “This device is a proven performer that delivers a clear return on investment. With the updates we’ve made to the Toughbook 53, its value is enhanced even further.”

Recently, Panasonic announced that a new multi-tiered channel approach from the company will allow it to expand its business operations across the UK with the help of its network of resellers and ISV’s.
