AAP Unveils Android App for eBookstore


The American Academy of Pediatrics recently unveiled an Android (News - Alert) version of AAP eBookstore. The application will allow Android users to access the complete AAP eBook compilation, comprising of over 100 publications for pediatricians.

The Android application was developed by AAP's eBooks technology associate, Impelsys using its prize-winning iPublishCentral software. Users can download the app from Google (News - Alert) Pay for no extra cost.

AAP’s digital publishing approach was planned by Impelsys. A branded eBookstore was initially unveiled by Impelsys. The organization also developed an application for iOS mobile devices. Impelsys has further extended AAP’s digital publishing approach by unveiling an app for Android users. Pediatricians can now access AAP information irrespective of the device.

In a statement, Linda Atteo, Coordinator, Digital Content and Licensing, AAP said, "This new app for Android devices is the next step in our strategy of making sure that our members have convenient access to our entire eBook collection from any mobile device. As part of AAP's strategy to build a virtual mobile library for its content, this is one of the many strategic moves we have in mind in the coming months."

A latest release of AAP’s eBookstore has also been launched by AAP. The latest release includes performance enhancements and improved user interface, all incorporated with an aim to allow improved mobile access. Users are offered real-time access to over 100 well-known digital AAP publications through the APP eBookstore. Users can buy and download any information from the complete collection of AAP electronic titles using AAP eBooks.
