Analogix Unveils SlimPort Mobile Device to Display Accessories

SlimPort products from Analogix can connect to any display type: HDMI for TVs, VGA for projectors and DisplayPort for monitors. This makes displaying content on a big screen easier and more fun. Allowing a mobile device to provide extremely high resolution in full HD media, including 3D at 1080p, SlimPort, powered by DisplayPort facilitates high-bandwidth video playback.

Recently, the company revealed its new line of SlimPort accessories. With the help of a microUSB adapter, users can now connect SlimPort or MyDP (Mobility DisplayPort) enabled mobile phones and tablets to any HD projector. They can also connect it to other devices such as TV, computer or monitor and receive multi-display productivity and big screen entertainment.

The company further plans to bring these accessories to market in the next few months. These tablets and smartphones with SlimPort features will also have display true full HD (1080p at 60Hz) media on any screen, even in 3D. Through most popular display standards - HDMI, VGA, DVI and DisplayPort, Analogix is introducing a total of four supporting microUSB cables and adapters with connectivity.

“Using next generation smartphones and tablets with integrated SlimPort products combined with SP accessories will make it easy to own most any screen wherever you go,” said Andre Bouwer, vice president of marketing for Analogix in a statement. “Multi-screen multi-tasking will become a reality, while sharing content with friends, family and colleagues will be simpler than ever.”

Recently, the company added a new product to its SlimPort family of products – the ANX7808 transmitter IC. Next-generation tablets, smartphones, digital cameras and camcorders can now display true full HD (1080p at 60Hz) media on any screen with SlimPort products.

Supporting more application processors and audio and video standards, the new ANX7808 will enable mobile device systems integrators and OEMs more design flexibility. This includes HDMI input (including 3D video) to a MyDP output over the existing micro USB connector.
