Nintendo TVii Services All Set to be Launched

Japan based Nintendo, a company known for Wii U and Wii home consoles, Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DS families of portable systems, is all set to roll out its Nintendo TVii, a free, integrated service for the recently launched Wii U console.

Nintendo has particularly introduced this service for Wii U owners to give them access to all of the programming in their home-entertainment setup, including content from their cable or satellite companies, and decide from the Wii U's Gamepad as to what they want to watch. In addition, the GamePad can double as a remote, allowing users to control volume and change channels, among other features.

“After Dec. 20, you’ll never look at your TV the same way again,” said Nintendo of America president and COO Reggie Fils-Aime. “Wii U owners have already experienced the transformative effect that the GamePad has on game play and social interaction. Nintendo TVii shows how the integrated second screen of the GamePad can also transform and enhance the TV viewing experience. Welcome to the new world of TVii.”

This service helps users to transform the new Wii U into a full-fledged entertainment box and pull all their cable, satellite and video-on-demand services, Comcast (News - Alert) cable packages or Hulu Plus subscriptions - into one place.

What’s more, users can also use the social features offered through this service. Wii U owners can share experiences and exciting moments with friends as they are happening on live TV and can also participate with others by commenting and sharing on Miiverse, Facebook and Twitter (News - Alert).

Those who are interested can purchase the Wii U system to avail Nintendo TVii service, which is included Wii U system package. In this, users can define which services they currently want to subscribe to – including the channel lineup in their cable package and video-on-demand service subscriptions – as part of the setup process.
