Gadgets -Viigo Teams Up With Cellular South to Provide Customized Mobile Content Platform


Viigo has teamed up with Cellular South to offer a free, co-branded version of Viigo application to the customers of Cellular South.
 
Watching news, entertainment and other content on mobile is no more a fashion for many mobile workers. Due to their constant traveling, the remote workers prefer to keep in touch with the latest happenings in the world through their mobile phones. Many companies have been providing content on mobile and in spite of various functionality challenges, mobile content market is growing quickly in many parts of the world.
 
 Those customers of Cellular South who have a BlackBerry (News - Alert), HTC Touch or Motorola Q9 smart phones will now get one-click access to real-time news, weather, sports, travel, stock market results, entertainment, blogs and more. The choice is wide for the customers as they get choose from a wide variety of Internet content channels, says Viigo.
 
“Viigo’s collaboration with Cellular South is a further illustration of the accelerating momentum and support we are gaining from wireless carriers,” said Mark Ruddock, CEO, Viigo. “At Viigo, not only are we focused on delivering the world’s best smart phone experience, we’re also committed to maximizing the value our partners derive from the platform - from new and attractive revenue streams to heightened customer engagement.”
 
The customers will also get news feeds from the Memphis Commercial Appeal, The Clarion-Ledger, Mobile Press Register, Delta Democrat Times, Memphis Business Journal, Meridian Star and the Hattiesburg American.
 
Adding or changing the content channels to the preferred list is easy for the customers, says Viigo. The sports buffs can get their regular dose of sports as the partnership provides access to blogs and NCAA football standings for the Southeastern Conference and Conference USA.
 
At the time of Olympics this year, Viigo had partnered with “The Globe and Mail” to provide smartphone users with mobile, interactive and real-time information. The partnership has created a mobile version of Canada’s national newspaper and its associated Web sites. The Viigo mobile application provides news and information in different categories such as News, Stocks, Travel and Local Interest.
