Samsung (
News -
Alert), which recently released its HMX-H105 model SSD memory camcorder as a higher-end extension to its full-HD digital camcorder family, has now introduced the innovative device to the Australian market.
Samsung Electronics deals in semiconductor, telecommunication, digital media and digital convergence technologies.
The HMX-H105 features an integrated 32GB internal storage drive and also supports the use of an SD/SDHC memory card for video storage as well. It uses the h264 video format to record videos and with the 32 GB SDHC card it can record six hours of video and with 16 GB card it can record video for three hours.
SSD is said to be the perfect partner for camcorders as it offers a wide range of benefits which directly suit video recording. SSD operates silently and emits minimal heat and uses less power. It makes the camera more durable and shock resistant compared with hard disc drive (HDD) or removable memory options.
Sagar Dave, digital AV marketing manager for Samsung Electronics Australia, said in a statement that SSD will help the company to unlock the full potential of camcorder as a medium. SSD will provide a more energy efficient, easily accessible and reliable filming experience.
The device includes a Schneider Kreuznach Varioplan HD lens equipped with Optical Image Stabilization support to ensure the video remains smooth and free of the normal shaking patterns caused by human hands. The lens also provides a 10x optical zoom and a 37mm wide angle focal length.
The HMX-105 H-series camcorder also includes additional features, such as an HDMI output for full HD support and viewing on an HDTV, a swiveling 2.7" TFT LCD screen and an HD time lapse recording mode which allows users to pre-select a certain period of time for recording.
Samsung’s compatible SMX-F34
received a 2009 TIPA Award and recently the company
announced the SMX-C14 and SMX-C10, two new ergonomically designed, compact digital camcorders.
