According to the computing giant, the new notebook is special because it features both Windows and Linux operating systems.
The most striking feature of Dell Latitude Z 600 is its sleek design: the machine weighs 4.5 pounds and is less than an inch thick. However, it has a reasonably large 16-inch matte display, although it is one of the world’s thinnest and lightest 16-inch laptops.
The notebook is equipped with two processors designed for two operating systems -- an Intel (

Latitude ON is fully separated from the primary system and provides quick access to things like contacts, e-mail and Internet.
Dell Latitude Z 600 is more wireless capable. It supports Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi), Bluetooth, as well as third-generation (3G) technologies. Dell has also added an innovative feature called EdgeTouch, a thin touch-strip that runs along the side of the keyboard, which can be used to access a menu with shortcuts.
The system features 4GB of RAM, two SSD drives for fast and secure storage, and either a 4- or 8-celled battery. Additionally, Dell offers a wireless charging facility with the help of a wireless UWB-based docking station with USB and DVI ports.
Another great feature of Z 600 is the built-in 2-megapixel Web cam with autofocus capabilities. With this, users can log in via face-recognition software, create PDFs by photographing physical documents and even scan business cards and save the details automatically in Outlook.
The ‘chiclet’ style keyboard leaves extra space between the keys. There is backlit while working in the dark.
With a starting price of $2,000, the luxurious Z 600 is on its way in select European countries.
