Weather Underground, a developer of online information systems, has
reportedly announced that WunderRadio, an application developed by it for listening to online radio stations has now been made available for the user of BlackBerry (

Alert) Curve and Bold too.
Users will now be able use the application for listening to over 50,000 global live Internet radio streams. Regularly, WunderRadio is available at a price of $9.99, although the users can download a free trial version for 10 days. Company officials said the versions of the application for the BlackBerry Tour and Storm will be made available soon.

Alert) users have already downloaded WunderRadio for listening to AM/FM and Internet radio stations from across the world.
Through the comprehensive radio stations directory powered by RadioTime, BlackBerry owners can search for radio stations that meet their needs and tastes, on the basis of location and over 400 different genres such as music, talk, sports and entertainment.
And, the users can deploy the WunderRadio application for saving presets to enable faster tuning to their favorite stations. Users can access the RadioTime Guide to automatically detect what is airing on their local stations, or browse for specific programs or on-air personalities.
According to Josh Carroll, president of Jeyo, the company which developed the BlackBerry version of the software, the BlackBerry users can utilize the built-in Twitter directory of WunderRadio to connect with an on-air DJ, while streaming their favorite station in the background, and never miss an e-mail.
The users of WunderRadio for BlackBerry can also listen to radio in the background while using other applications on the phone and elegantly handles incoming calls. The application supports playback of more media types including global broadcasts and podcasts, and even lets the users connect to their Bluetooth speaker systems or headsets.
Alan Steremberg, president, Weather Underground, said that with the addition of the BlackBerry version, WunderRadio is truly becoming the new standard for listening to radio on mobile devices.
In other news, Weather Underground
announced to introduce a Tropical Weather section for iPhone users, which allowed them to access a variety of hurricane tracking maps including five-day forecast maps, computer model maps, satellite maps, wind maps and historical maps. And, the
company launched a new iPhone application that gave users access to thousands of streaming Internet radio stations powered by RadioTime’s extensive guide.
