Gadgets -MetroPCS and Samsung Mobile Launch Windows Mobile 6.1 Powered Samsung Code


MetroPCS, a pre-paid wireless provider, and Samsung (News - Alert) Mobile, a mobile phone provider, have launched the Windows Mobile 6.1 powered Samsung Code mobile phone.
 
The mobile phone handset, also known as the SCH-i220, features a full suite of Microsoft (News - Alert) tools including contacts, calendars, tasks, notes, voice recorder and Windows Live. With MetroPCS’ Samsung Code, consumers who are on-the-go will experience the best of productivity and organization, via the Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system.
 
Code is built in with an optional WizPro interface which enables consumers to personalize their home screen and create shortcuts for frequently used features such as missed messages, calendar appointments and others. The phone also comes packed with Full HTML Web Browser featuring 3G technology, QWERTY Keyboard, Direct Push E-Mail, a 2.0 Megapixel Camera, Stereo Bluetooth capabilities and external memory support up to 32GB.
 
Roger D. Linquist, president, CEO and chairman of the Board of MetroPCS, said that they are excited to add another smartphone to their lineup of latest handsets. In a time when consumers want more from a phone than simply to talk or text, MetroPCS customers will be able to take full advantage of the Samsung Code’s advanced features and services that will give them an enriched wireless experience.
 
The launch of the new phone demonstrates MetroPCS’ ability to give its customers more while at the same time maintaining the economical unlimited, flat rate service they expect from MetroPCS.
 
According to Samsung Mobile, by means of direct push e-mail and other messaging features, users can access work and personal e-mail effortlessly. The Windows OS will also enable the phone to synchronize with any computer via Microsoft Outlook Mobile through the ActiveSync technology, enabling users to instantly access e-mail, contacts and calendar. Users can sync even their corporate and personal accounts with Microsoft Exchange Server.
 
Paul Golden, chief marketing officer of Samsung Telecommunications America, said that they are excited as well to launch the first Windows Mobile 6.1 powered smartphone to MetroPCS customers. The Samsung Code gives users the ability to balance work and personal communication with a variety of applications and features.
 
MetroPCS stated that they offer a diverse selection of service plans, which allow customers to talk 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week, for a wireless experience that best fits their lifestyles. With MetroPCS, customers pay by the month, not by the minute, and services do not require a signed contract, deposit or credit check.
 
MetroPCS recently released the landline replacement impact and Samsung Mobile, DiVitas (News - Alert) announced the availability of mobile UC solution.
