Gadgets -Sprint Unveils Dell Inspiron Mini 10 Notebook Powered by its 3G Network


Sprint Nextel, a provider of wireless and wireline communications services, has announced that it has unveiled the Dell (News - Alert) Inspiron Mini 10 notebook powered by its 3G network.
 
Leveraging the Sprint’s (News - Alert) network, company officials said the Mini 10 can offer Internet access in a convenient, affordable and portable package that can easily fit in a purse, backpack or briefcase.
 
According to officials with Sprint, Dell Inspiron Mini 10 is a “fun” way to “easily” access the speeds of Sprint’s network to catch-up on email, surf the Web and more.
 
The Dell Inspiron Mini 10 is said to be the notebook with every features users want in a mobile companion. It comes with a multi-touch track pad and next-generation WiFi (News - Alert), all on a 10.1” seamless display with 16:9 aspect ratio and allows users to stay connected with advanced wireless options. It offers an Intel Atom Processor Z520, Microsoft (News - Alert) Windows Home XP SP3 Edition, a built-in 1.3MP Web cam, 160 GB hard drive, integrated Intel 500 media accelerator graphics, 5-in-1 media reader, Bluetooth technology and Wi-Fi 802.11g.
 
The Dell Inspiron Mini 10 features embedded EV-DO Rev, a wireless service from Sprint that supports faster data rates and higher system capacity, enabling customers to send and receive large amounts of data at broadband speeds comparable to DSL. Using this type of faster speed, users can enjoy utmost benefits of robust applications and services including wireless voice-over-IP, high-speed video telephony, music on-demand and video messaging.
 
Buyers of the new notebook can also choose from a range of Sprint mobile broadband plans that are designed by the company to suit small businesses and consumers who live a mobile lifestyle and want to enhance their productivity by being connected just about anywhere they go.
 
Recently, Sprint Nextel (News - Alert) reported wider loss of retail subscribers and announced general availability of its SIP trunking service.
